Have you ever installed an app because it seemed useful, only to have the free trial end while you were looking through the settings?

When trying SellRules, you do not need to configure your entire catalog or learn every feature from the start. Choose 1 task that feels troublesome now and start by checking whether it actually changes with 1 product.

First, choose what you want to hand over

If you are editing product pages to match launch times, try switching between pre-orders and regular sales. If you contact customers individually every time an item is restocked, try email signups and restock notifications.

For shops handling limited products, purchase limits are another option. For made-to-order products, it may make sense to check the reception schedule and order progress.

If you are unsure, choose the task you are likely to have to do yourself again at the next sale. You do not need to test features unrelated to your shop.

See everything from settings to the customer's view with 1 product

Choose the product to test

Start with a test product whose settings are easy to understand. Instead of changing the inventory or purchase button of a live product right away, check it in a state that does not affect customer orders or notifications.

The setup steps, such as turning on “App embeds” in the theme editor, follow the SellRules setup guide.

Set only the feature you want to hand over

For pre-orders, set the start and end dates; for restock notifications, set the product and the message after it sells out; for purchase limits, set the quantity cap.

Rather than pressing every button to learn it, decide what you want to do with this product first; the setup is easier to follow. For products accepting pre-orders, remember to write the expected shipping date on the product page.

Check what customers use

Look at the product page and check whether the planned button or signup form appears. If you are testing a notification, use your own email address.

Being able to save in the settings screen and being usable by customers are separate things. If you get stuck, note the product and the screen where it stopped, then check the guide or support.

Use these 3 points to decide whether to continue

What to reviewWhat to look for
Whether manual work seems reducedWhether there will be a situation where you can use the same setting at the next launch or restock
Whether you can handle it yourselfWhether changing dates or checking signup status causes confusion
Whether you can give customers correct informationWhether the button, email, and expected shipping date show the intended content

You do not need to fill out a detailed measurement sheet. Decide based on how your work changes, such as no longer having to wait at each launch or no longer having to look for contacts after restocking.

Conversely, if few of your products are eligible and manual work is not a problem, you do not need to continue right away.

Check the price before the free trial ends

SellRules' Launch plan costs US$7.99 per month and includes a 10-day free trial. If you continue using it after the trial, you will be charged. Check the terms at signup, including what happens if you cancel during the trial.

If you decide not to use it, check the cancellation and uninstall steps in Shopify admin before the period ends. It is more reliable not to assume that simply stopping opening the app ends the subscription.

If you want to keep the schedules or notification signups you configured, check how they are handled before deleting them. See the Terms of Service and the instructions in the admin for details.

Try whether the next sale can be a little easier

If you have not used it yet, you can try SellRules free for 10 days. If you already installed it, work through 1 product while looking at the settings screen.

The purpose of the free trial is not to learn everything. It is to check whether you can find a reason to keep using it in your own shop.
