Q.Do I need to edit my theme?⌄
No. SellRules works as a Theme App Embed, so simply enabling the app embed automatically applies it to your product pages. No theme code editing is required.
Q.What is the difference between pre-order and made-to-order?⌄
Pre-order means accepting orders before launch with stock prepared, while made-to-order means producing and shipping after an order is placed. You can choose which phase to use for each product.
Q.What happens when a product goes out of stock?⌄
Depending on your settings, it either shows a back-in-stock notification (waitlist) or automatically switches to pre-order or made-to-order mode. You can choose the behavior per product.
Q.How do I set purchase limits?⌄
From Rules in the admin, specify the maximum per order and the maximum per customer. Limits by variant and by specific customer tag (VIP) are also supported.
Q.Can I collect email addresses before launch?⌄
Yes. During the announcement phase, the buy button switches to a notification sign-up so you can collect customer emails, and they are notified automatically when pre-orders open or stock arrives.
Q.Are notification emails available in multiple languages?⌄
Yes. Email templates support 9 languages and switch automatically based on the customer’s language. You can edit templates per purpose and per language.
Q.Can I restrict payment methods for pre-orders?⌄
Yes. You can restrict specific payment methods for pre-order and made-to-order orders.
Q.What if the estimated ship date is delayed?⌄
You can change the estimated ship date from Order Progress, and when you push it back you can send a delay notification email to the customer. Bulk changes across multiple orders are also supported.
Q.Can I bulk-register via CSV?⌄
Yes. CSV import and export of schedule information is supported, so you can configure many products at once.
Q.How much does it cost? Is there a free trial?⌄
It is $19.99 per month with a 30-day free trial. Billing is processed through the Shopify App Store billing system.
Q.What happens to my data if I uninstall?⌄
On uninstall, your store’s data such as schedules, notification settings, and sign-up lists is deleted. We also automatically respond to GDPR / CCPA data deletion requests.
