Shopify x Click Post Shipping Guide: An Index to CSV Export, Tracking Sync, and Error Fixes
Shipping Shopify orders with Click Post breaks into three blocks: CSV export → bulk application and payment → tracking-number sync. This page is an index — use the links below to jump straight to the article that matches what you need.
If you want the fastest path to a specific problem, pick your topic below:
- Export a CSV / fix an import error → CSV export steps from Shopify to Click Post (address splitting, encoding, CSV import errors by cause)
- Submit more than 40 orders in one go → Click Post Bulk Application: how to use it and how to split past the 40-order limit
- Auto-sync tracking numbers into Shopify → Auto-sync Click Post tracking numbers to Shopify (turn 50 minutes of typing into 10 seconds for 100 orders)
- Prevent returns from address issues / field-length limits → How to prevent returns caused by address errors
- A customer asked for an address change after shipment → A decision flow for post-shipment address changes

From here on, the guide walks through the big picture of each block and the common friction points, based on three years and more than 2,200 shipments. The sections below are for readers who want to understand the full flow before diving into any single topic.

Why Manual Tracking-Number Entry Still Remains in Click Post Shipping
CSV export only solves the outbound half of the process
There are several CSV export apps for Click Post. They convert Shopify order data into the CSV format that Click Post accepts.
However, they usually cover only the Shopify -> Click Post direction. After you complete payment in Click Post and tracking numbers are issued, the return path, Click Post -> Shopify, is still left to manual work by the merchant.
As explained in our guide to CSV export steps and common pitfalls, exporting the file itself is usually smooth. The real bottleneck comes afterward, when you have to stop and enter tracking numbers manually.
Thirty seconds per order becomes a serious burden at scale
Manual tracking-number entry takes about 30 seconds per order. For 10 orders, that is only around 5 minutes. If you ship around 10 orders a day, it may not feel like a major issue.
But things change after an event or a sale. When I had to enter tracking numbers for 100 orders during a busy period, it took about 50 minutes. That was 50 minutes spent only on typing tracking numbers, separate from packing and label work.
That was the moment I started thinking, "This is a waste of time." It pushed me to automate the process.

How the Automatic Tracking-Number Sync Works
Extract the tracking number from the shipping label and match it by order number
After you complete payment in Click Post, you download the shipping label file. That label contains the recipient's address, name, and the tracking number issued by Japan Post.
In other words, the information needed to answer the question "Which tracking number belongs to which order?" is already there in the label. Manual entry is simply the act of reading that information and typing it back into Shopify.
With the automatic extraction workflow, the label data is read and matched to unfulfilled Shopify orders using the order number as the key. Because the match is based on a unique order number, even multiple orders going to the same address are handled correctly.
In how to eliminate manual tracking-number entry, I explain the extraction logic and matching accuracy in more detail.
Shipping confirmation emails are sent automatically as well
When a tracking number is reflected in a Shopify order, the order status changes to Shipped. At that point, Shopify automatically sends the shipping confirmation email.
Because the tracking number is included in that email, customers can check delivery progress on their own. Fewer "Has my order shipped yet?" inquiries is a major benefit for merchants too.
CSV Import Errors: Solve Them on the Dedicated Page, by Cause
When you import a CSV into Click Post's bulk application, a handful of classic errors can stop the upload — address-field overflow, postal code format, and Shift_JIS / UTF-8 encoding mismatches.
If you landed here searching for "Click Post CSV import error," the fastest path is the dedicated page that organizes fixes by cause.

The character-limit rules for address fields (20 full-width characters per field) and how to handle formatting variation are covered in depth in how to prevent returns caused by address errors. Getting the address right at CSV-export time is the single most reliable way to prevent both import errors and returns.

The Real Workflow: From CSV Export to Fulfillment Completion
Here is the full workflow I use every day, from CSV export through tracking-number sync. This is the exact process I run daily at 2 p.m.
Step 1: Export order data from Shopify as CSV
In the Instant Shipping! for Click Post app screen, select unfulfilled orders and export the CSV. Address data is automatically split into the format Click Post expects, so there is no need to clean it up manually after export.
The exported CSV uses Shift-JIS encoding and can be uploaded directly into Click Post's bulk application flow.
Step 2: Submit a bulk application and complete payment in Click Post
In the Click Post dashboard, choose Bulk Application and upload the CSV file. After the import finishes, complete payment using Yahoo! Wallet or Amazon Pay.
There is one important detail here. Click Post's bulk application feature is only for bulk recipient registration. Payment itself must still be completed one shipment at a time. Even if you upload 40 shipments at once, you still make 40 separate payments. Also, the CSV import limit is 40 shipments per upload, and batch label printing is limited to 20 at a time on A4 paper with four labels per sheet.
Step 3: Import the shipping labels and sync all tracking numbers at once
After payment, download the shipping labels and upload them to the app screen. The app automatically extracts the tracking numbers from the labels and shows the matching result against Shopify orders in a list.
Once you confirm the contents and click Bulk Register, the process is done. Tracking numbers are registered and shipping confirmation emails are automatically sent to customers at the same time.
| Step | Time required for 10 orders |
|---|---|
| CSV export | About 1 minute |
| Bulk application and payment | About 5 minutes |
| Label printing, packing, and drop-off | About 15 minutes |
| Tracking-number sync (automatic) | About 10 seconds |
Not only does this reduce the 5 minutes of manual entry to almost zero, it also helps prevent mistakes caused by typing. I cover those risks separately in common issues caused by tracking-number input mistakes.

How Should You Divide Shipping Between Click Post and Other Methods?
The benefit of a flat 185-yen nationwide rate, and the size and weight limits
Click Post costs a flat 185 yen nationwide and includes tracking. Because it is delivered to a mailbox, the recipient does not need to be home. For small and lightweight products, it is a very cost-effective shipping option for independent online stores.
That said, it does have constraints.
- Size: within 34 cm x 25 cm x 3 cm
- Weight: within 1 kg
- Insurance: none
- Mailbox delivery: no signature on receipt
It is not a good fit for items thicker than 3 cm, fragile products, or high-value goods. In those cases, you should consider alternatives such as Yu-Packet, Letter Pack, or standard parcel delivery.
In our comparison of small-parcel shipping services, I compare Click Post, Yu-Packet, Kuroneko Yu-Packet, and standard non-standard mail by price, size, and features. Because the right choice depends on the size and weight of your products, what kinds of products are suitable for Click Post is also worth reading.

What Will You Do with the Time You Save?
For handmade sellers, making time has real value
The goal of streamlining shipping work is not simply to "make things easier."
When you run a shop by yourself, you have to create time for product making, photography, and social media promotion all on your own. If shipping work takes 30 minutes less per day, that is 30 more minutes you can spend on making products.
In my case, I have kept a routine for three years where I batch shipping work at 2 p.m. every day and focus on making products in the morning. Once shipping work becomes predictable, you can plan the rest of your day backward and know when you will be able to return to creative work.
In how to structure shipping work so you can focus on making, I share how I balance production and fulfillment. If you are just getting started with Click Post shipping, getting started with Click Post shipping on Shopify will help you understand the full setup.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How many shipments can I register at once in Click Post's bulk application?
CSV import is limited to 40 shipments per upload. If you have 41 or more, split the CSV and upload it in multiple rounds. Batch label printing is limited to 20 shipments at a time, with four labels printed per A4 sheet.
Q. How long does it take to sync tracking numbers?
From uploading the shipping-label file to completing bulk registration, it takes about 10 seconds for around 10 orders. Even as the number of orders grows, the time does not scale linearly the way manual entry does.
Q. What payment methods does Click Post accept?
Payment can be completed with Yahoo! Wallet or Amazon Pay. A credit card must be registered in advance.
Conclusion
Shipping Shopify orders with Click Post consists of three steps: CSV export, bulk application, and tracking-number sync.
Even if you automate CSV export, shipping operations remain only half optimized as long as manual tracking-number entry is still required. When you add a workflow that automatically extracts tracking numbers from shipping labels and syncs them back to Shopify orders, the loop finally becomes complete.
Once your shipping work becomes predictable, it also becomes easier to protect time for product creation and marketing.
If you want to streamline everything from CSV export to tracking-number sync in one continuous workflow, try Instant Shipping! for Click Post.
