What to Check on Your First Shipment After the October Revision | Click Post 240 Yen and New Size Rules in Practice
After the October 1, 2026 revision, there are four things to confirm on your first shipment: whether the payment screen shows the 240 yen rate, whether your packaging meets the new size conditions (within 60 cm total dimensions and 34 cm longest side), whether your packed parcel fits the post box you plan to use, and whether Shopify's shipping display and tracking number sync still work as before. For the full list of changes, see the October 2026 changes summary; for last-minute preparation, see the September 30–October 1 shipping preparation. This article defines the check order from the perspective of actually sending one parcel after the outage ends.

Three Screens to Review Before Sending the First Parcel
Right after the revision, visually confirming the rate and size on the application screen is the reliable approach. Click Post applies the rate in effect when payment completes: transactions paid by September 30 at 23:30 (scheduled) are charged the old 185 yen rate, and anything paid after that is charged the new 240 yen rate.
Three Points to Confirm Before Paying
- Rate shown on the application screen: Does it display 240 yen (tax included, flat nationwide)? Even for applications submitted just before the cutoff, payment completing after the cutoff means the new rate applies.
- Size determination criteria: Does your packaging satisfy the new conditions (within 60 cm total dimensions, longest side within 34 cm, insertable into a post box) rather than the old ones (longest side 34 cm, shortest side 25 cm, thickness 3 cm)? Items you previously gave up on due to thickness may now fit. For sizing details, see the article on the 3 cm limit change.
- Weight limit: It has expanded from 1 kg to 2 kg. Stores that diverted items just over 1 kg to Yu-Packet have a good opportunity to evaluate moving them back to Click Post.
Handling Orders That Straddle the Outage
The Click Post site itself will be down from September 30 at 23:30 to October 1 at 6:00 (scheduled). During the outage you can neither apply nor reprint labels. For orders that arrive right at the cutoff, check in your application history whether payment completed before the outage began. If it did not, you will need to apply at the new rate after service resumes.
Drop-Off Once Post Boxes Become the Default
From October onward, drop-off is in principle post-box only. Counter drop-off is allowed only when the exception criteria are met; the decision boundary is summarized in the exception conditions for counter drop-off.
For your first shipment, it is worth confirming once that your packed parcel actually fits into the post box you plan to use. The new conditions include the phrase "insertable into a post box" in addition to "within 60 cm total dimensions." Because slot sizes differ between post boxes, stores that ship thicker packages should measure the slot of their usual box in advance so same-day decisions go faster.
What Changes and What Stays the Same on the Shopify Side
The shipping workflow itself does not change: create the application CSV from orders, issue labels, and register tracking numbers on orders as usual. The end-to-end flow from CSV export to tracking sync is covered in the Shopify x Click Post shipping guide.
Anything involving money, however, needs a review.
- Shipping fee display: Have you updated the Click Post shipping fee to the 240 yen assumption? Check that no "free shipping" threshold or shipping-fee display based on the old 185 yen remains. Following the Shopify shipping settings review procedure through to the cart display is the fastest path.
- Profit outlook: For example, at 100 shipments per month, the rate difference alone adds 5,500 yen per month (a hypothetical calculation of 55 yen per parcel from 185 to 240 yen, times 100 shipments). Use this as input when deciding whether to pass the cost through or absorb it in pricing. The approach for deriving the increase from shipment volume is in the rate-hike preparation article.
- Concurrent revisions to other services: Yu-Packet moves from thickness-tiered pricing to a flat 360 yen, and an average revision of about 10% has been announced for Yu-Pack. No change to Letter Pack has been announced as of September 19. Stores using these alongside Click Post should review them together.
Tracking Number Sync Is Unchanged
Even though payment and drop-off conditions changed, the mechanism for registering issued tracking numbers on Shopify orders and sending shipping notifications is the same. For reducing manual entry at volume, see automatic tracking number extraction; for the CSV-based flow, see the CSV export article.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do applications submitted by September 30 qualify for the old rate?
The determining timestamp is not when the application was submitted but when payment was completed. Transactions with payment completed by September 30 at 23:30 (scheduled) qualify for the old rate of 185 yen. If you complete only the application and payment passes the cutoff, the new rate applies.
What should I do with orders received during the October 1 maintenance?
Applications and label issuance are unavailable during the outage, so process them after service resumes (scheduled for 6:00). Only consider alternatives such as Yu-Packet or Letter Pack for genuinely urgent shipments.
Can I send thicker items under the new size rules?
The 3 cm thickness limit has been removed; the new conditions are within 60 cm total dimensions, longest side within 34 cm, and insertable into a post box. However, packages that do not fit the slot are excluded, so confirm thicker packaging against an actual post box first.
Can I keep using old labels and saved application data?
Screens and input fields may be updated when service resumes. For labels or application data created before the outage, review the history and drop-off conditions after resumption before using them. Recreate anything you are unsure about—it is safer.

Summary
For the first shipment after the revision, checking four things in order—the 240 yen rate display, packaging under the new size conditions, a post box that accepts your parcel, and Shopify's shipping display and tracking sync—prevents most stumbles. For details on the changes themselves, see the changes summary; for the overall shipping workflow, see the shipping guide. Orders received during the maintenance outage can simply be processed together after service resumes.
