Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 August 2026

These terms set out the conditions for using the Shopify app "Shunji Hakko - Receipts, Invoices & Delivery Notes" (the "App") provided by JizaiDev ("we"). Installing the App means you accept these terms.

01

What the service does

Working from the orders and draft orders in your Shopify store, the App generates receipts, invoices, delivery notes, qualified return invoices, quotations, purchase orders and remittance statements, then stores and distributes them.

Documents are generated as PDFs on the server and stored in our object storage. Once issued, they can be retrieved again from the admin screen, sent by email, exported in bulk (ZIP or merged PDF), and output as CSV for bookkeeping, ledgers and audits.

The App also provides monthly consolidated invoices and remittance statements, a customer account extension for buyers, and a read API for external integrations.

The App supports the generation and storage of documents. It does not make tax judgements on your behalf.

02

Conditions of use

Using the App requires an active Shopify store and acceptance of Shopify’s terms of service.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the company details, registration number and tax settings you enter into the App. A qualified invoice issuer’s registration number can be checked against the National Tax Agency’s public register, but interpreting the result and confirming it finally is your responsibility.

You may not use the App for any purpose that breaks the law.

03

Pricing

The App costs $3.99 (USD) per month. A 10-day free trial applies on first install.

Billing runs through Shopify’s billing system, and we never receive payment details directly. Without an active subscription, no new documents can be issued. If you cancel during the trial, nothing is charged.

If we change the price, we will notify you in advance in accordance with Shopify’s procedures.

04

How documents are handled

The App does not overwrite documents that have already been issued. Where a correction is needed, the original stays in place and a corrected version or a qualified return invoice is issued alongside it.

You are responsible for the content of the documents you issue and for the tax treatment based on them.

The App holds data in a form that makes the storage requirements of the Electronic Books Preservation Act (Japan’s law on retaining accounting records electronically) easier to meet, but it does not guarantee that the way you operate satisfies those requirements.

Issued documents are kept until a deadline set with tax law’s retention obligations in mind. Even where a buyer asks for their personal data to be erased, the document itself is not deleted: we only sever the link to the customer. Please see the Privacy Policy for details.

05

Prohibited conduct

Reverse engineering, copying or redistributing the App

Gaining unauthorised access to the App or placing an excessive load on it

Issuing documents while impersonating someone else

Passing on or sharing an API key for an external integration with a third party

Any other conduct we consider inappropriate

06

Disclaimer

We accept no liability for loss arising from your use of the App, except where we have acted with intent or gross negligence.

We provide the App “as is” and give no warranty of uninterrupted operation or freedom from bugs. Nor do we accept liability for malfunctions caused by outages or specification changes at the external services we integrate with, such as Shopify, our email delivery provider or the National Tax Agency’s public register.

Where we are liable, our liability is capped at the total amount you have paid for the App during the 12 months preceding the day on which the loss occurred. We accept no liability for loss arising during the free trial period.

07

Changes and termination

We may change the specifications and functions of the App.

If we discontinue the App, we will give at least 30 days’ notice. You will be able to export your issued documents in bulk before it ends.

08

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
