Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear most often before installation. If yours is not here, reach us from the contact link inside the app.
Setup
What do I need to do after installing before I can issue?
In settings, enter your company details (name, address, contact), your qualified invoice issuer registration number and your rounding method. Uploading a logo and setting your fiscal year-end month feeds into the documents and the retention calculation. After that you can issue from any paid order.
Do I need to edit my theme or add code?
Not for issuing from the admin. If you want buyers to download their own receipts, add the app blocks to the order status page and the customer account page in the checkout editor and the account editor. The steps are shown on the app's settings screen.
Can I verify my registration number?
Yes. From settings you can check the number against Japan's National Tax Agency public system, which confirms both the format (T plus 13 digits) and that the registration exists.
Consumption tax and qualified invoices
Can I choose the rounding method?
Round down, round up or round half up. In every case tax is rounded once per tax rate.
How are mixed 8% and 10% orders shown?
The base amount and the tax are listed separately for each rate, so 10% and 8% appear as independent lines on the document.
Can tax-exempt businesses use it?
Yes. Leave the registration number empty and documents are issued without qualified-invoice wording.
Refunds and corrections
Does a partial refund behave differently from a full one?
No. In both cases a qualified return invoice is issued automatically for the amount actually refunded, including refunded shipping and refund adjustments, and the original receipt stays as it is. If the payment of a refund has not been confirmed yet, the return invoice is issued once it is confirmed. If an order edit only lowers the total and no money is refunded, nothing is issued automatically; orders that already have an invoice appear under “Not issued / to check” on the home screen, where you can review them and either issue a return invoice or mark them as checked.
I issued a document with the wrong recipient name.
Change the name and reissue. The original is not deleted; a corrected version is added under a new document number, and both appear side by side in the list.
What if the buyer asks for a name change?
Buyers can send a name-change request, which you approve in the admin before reissuing.
Storage and data
How long are documents kept?
A retention date is calculated from your fiscal year-end month and recorded per document. Nothing is deleted before that date.
Can I issue documents for older orders?
How far back an app can read orders is limited, but any document already issued is stored on our side exactly as it was, so you can retrieve it later.
Can I export in bulk?
Filter by period, type or state and export as merged PDF, ZIP, a CSV ledger or an audit CSV.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
When Shopify notifies us of the deletion, data that is not subject to retention requirements is removed. How the documents themselves are handled is described in the privacy policy. We recommend exporting before you uninstall.
Pricing
How much does it cost?
$3.99 per month, with a 10-day free trial.
Where do I pay?
Charges are added to your Shopify bill. You never enter card details in the app.
What happens if I cancel?
You can no longer issue new documents. Cancel during the trial and nothing is charged.
