AI visually analyzes each image and describes what it sees in natural language. Rather than copying the product name, it identifies colors, shapes, materials, and composition. Choose from OpenAI GPT-5.2, Claude Sonnet 4.5, or Gemini 3 Flash.
What's the difference between plans?expand_more
The Free plan includes 50 AI generations per month (you provide your own API key). The Self plan is $4.99/mo for unlimited generation with your own key. Standard and Premium are Managed plans that include built-in AI — 500 and 3,000 generations per month respectively, no API key needed. Start with the Free plan to try it out.
What does "use your own API key" mean?expand_more
If you have an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, you can enter it in the app to power AI generation. On the Self plan at $4.99/mo, there's no limit on how many images you can process. If you don't have an API key, choose a Managed plan instead.
How does bulk upload work?expand_more
Bundle your product images into a ZIP file and use a CSV to map them to products. Auto-matching works by handle, SKU, or variant ID, so you can register large volumes of images at once. You can also include alt text directly in the CSV.
What is an image sitemap?expand_more
While a regular sitemap tells Google about your page URLs, an image sitemap is a specialized XML file that tells Google about your images and their metadata. Submitting one helps Google index your images, driving traffic from image search. AltForge generates and submits this automatically.
How does Google Search Console integration work?expand_more
Complete Google site verification within the app and configure automatic image sitemap submission. Sitemap generation, updates, and submission all happen inside the app.
Does it support multilingual stores?expand_more
Yes. The alt text editor supports all languages enabled on your store. However, webhook-based auto-generation and image upload currently target your store's primary language only. You can add other languages manually through the editor.
